    Start from Mysore at around 8:00am and reach Somanathapura by 9:30am. View one of the finest specimens of Hoysala architecture at Somanathapura and learn about the indomitable power of Lord Vishnu (the 2nd of the holy trinity in Hindu Mythology). Take your time to discover the intricate carvings around the temple and go trigger happy at the stunning ceilings. Have a quick packed lunch at the gorgeous waterfall of Shivanasamudra and head to discover the city buried under sand - Talakad. Explore the sand dune laden temples of Talakad and question yourself about the mystery of so much sand in a land which was once fertile. Saunter around and have a look at the city being unearthed from under the sand dunes while walking along the sand lined with cashew trees. Discover the famous curse that befell the Mysore kings. Also, learn about the might of Shiva (the 3rd of the holy trinity). Spot sugarcane, paddy, coconut, millets and along with silkworm cultivation all along the route while driving through the farms.
